God is the original artist. And he created YOU. And he loves you in more ways than there are grains of sand (sand art anyone?) on the earth! He also created our amazing solar system. We'll build one like Alexander Calder did and sculpt and paint a beautiful Picasso bug too!
Day at the Beach Camp is the ultimate summer getaway while staying on dry land! A week of sun and (painted) surf await your child as they explore the art techniques used by the masters with a fun island twist. From sculpting their very own tropical fish to painting their own sand castles using actual sand and shells, they will learn many different styles of art like Painting, Mixed Media, Abstract Design, and more. Come create with us at Day at the Beach Camp and get a little bit of vitamin ‘sea’!
At Lego Camp, everything is Awesome! Each day students will explore the world of Lego through the lens of an artist. From Van Gogh to Pollock, they will learn about five Masters of the art world while making masterpieces of their own using different media to create their own Lego worlds and people. On one day, your child will become an engineer and paint their own Lego city using Legos as a tool while also learning about linear perspective and brush stroke technique. On another, they’ll imagine and create what they would look like as a Lego person while exploring Mixed Media and sculpture design. From painting with Legos to building a Starry Night painting using Legos, a world of fun awaits you at Lego Camp!
Let it GOGH on a Van Gogh seascape. Go UP and away with different types of ‘balloons’. How many recylclable circles can you think of?, Sculpt some love experts trolls? Paint an abstract Mickey like Pollock. How can we view Disney characters from different perspectives like Picasso would?
Whet Your Palette had partnered with Simply Healthy Living and knows that Art and Health go hand in hand. We will make art with and about fruits and veggies. We will also be sneaking in crazy fun facts about health that will make children think twice about their food choices! (Because we are partners in health and are sponsored by Juice Plus we will be offering this camp at 50% off for those who choose to participate in the Children's Health Study which provides whole food nutrition to your child for free for up to four years.)
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Whet Your Palette invites you to a week of fairytale fun with Knights and Damsels Camp! Create and build a world of your own using different art techniques demonstrated by the Master Artists of the past. One day, your children will imagine themselves as knights and princesses while learning about brush stroke technique and texture from Van Gogh. On another, they’ll get to sculpt their very own castle and catapult! From knights, dragons, princesses, and castles to Picasso, Kandinsky, Pollock and more, you’ll have a royally great time at Knights and Damsels Camp!
Maybe the large black shape in Van Gogh’s Starry Night is Darth Vader? Viewing stars in hyperdrive gives us a different perspective of space! We’ll use neon colors for our view from the cockpit. Did Kandinsky make art that looked like space fighters? What do you need to make an X-wing Starfighter? We’ve got the supplies! And of course… the light sabers. We’ll make awesome light sabers that can be used for water play if you choose!
This is one of our most popular camps! With Japanese gardens in the back, there is plenty of inspiration for fairy and brownie art. Our fairy houses this year will have sweet gardens and rose petal roofs. We will have glowing pathways too! We'll do our yearly search for fairy dust and may spot a fairy or two. Our quest for whimsical art, magic wands and crowns will be guided by our five summer artists and their techiniques.
Yep - We're gonna get messy (only if your child wants to). Colored water sprinkler, painting with feet, throwing and splattering, all while learning about master artists and techniques. Expect a little or a lot of paint fun to get on clothes.
Come spend a week in the wizarding world with us at Harry Potter Camp! Your child will enter the studio as a first-year student and discover and explore art techniques used by the masters with a magical twist. Sculpting their own Nimbus 2000 in Flying class, painting Hogwarts Starry Night in Astronomy, and creating a mixed media Forbidden Forest in Defense Against the Dark Arts are just a few of the things that your child will create while learning about the masters who came before them. Come with us to Harry Potter Camp and see what magic awaits you!
Did you know that some of Calder's mobiles were made to represent Animals? Let's splatter paint a zebra! And do you know how to see the shapes that make up an animal? Perhaps a dog? How can use different media to make an artful image of a dog? Come find out!
